Club (Ecuador)

Club Premium Lager is a beer that is brewed by Cervezas Nacionales Ecuador as part of SABMiller. I tried Club Premium Lager in October of 2007 when I took a spur of the moment trip to Quito, the capitol of Ecuador. Here is a RateBeer review.

Left Hand Warrior IPA

Warrior IPA is brewed by Left Hand Brewing in Longmont, CO. I had this beer about a week ago and found it at the PCC in West Seattle. Even though the label design doesn't have anything to do with the video below, it is still what I think about when I see or hear the word "warrior." The video is from the cult movie The Warriors, which I have seen many, many times over the years.

Oskar Blues Old Chub

Old Chub is a scotch ale brewed by Oskar Blues in Lyons, Colorado. I first tried this beer in the spring of 2010 even though I have known about it and about Oskar Blues for about 5 years and used to live in Colorado but just hadn't ever had it.
Here is a Beer Advocate review.

Beer Chips

OK, so here is what has become an increasingly infrequent occurrence - the weekend posting to The Beer Man. I will share a beer in a second posting but this evening I was reminded of the 'miracle' of Beer Chips. I first heard of and tried beer chips at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival.
I again had them at the festival in 2007 but I hadn't ever seen them in stores...until tonight. I went to the Fred Meyer in Lake City and there was an entire end cap of these and they had two other flavors, a bloody mary flavor and a margarita one. I haven't tried these other two yet but the bag of beer chips I ate was great. OK, here is my recommendation - go find Beer Chips and eat them! That is all.

Old Milwaukee

Old Milwaukee is a beer that is owned by Pabst Brewing but brewed by Miller Brewing for Pabst. I first tried Old Milwaukee in the early 2000s, probably 2002, while living in Colorado. This was originally introduced as a value brand by Schlitz Brewing then through the acquisitions of Schlitz by Stroh's Brewing and Stroh's was eventually acquired by Pabst. Coors Light

Coors Light is brewed by Coors Brewing as part of Molson Coors. I first tried the Silver Bullet a number of years ago while living in Colorado. I visited their brewery in Golden, Colorado in 2003. Having grown up and lived most of my life in Colorado, I have seen an inordinate amount of advertising for Coors, including having attended numerous baseball games at Coors Field in Denver, which is the home of the Colorado Rockies. Here is a Beer Advocate review and a RateBeer review.

The Reverend

The Reverend is brewed by Avery Brewing in Boulder, Colorado. I first tried this beer there in Boulder though I didn't have a full serving so I only recently (last week) finally was able to add it to my list of beers that I have tried.

I have been away!

I know I started this blog with the intention to post a beer each day. I have failed for the last 10 days but I have been so busy it just hasn't worked out. I will begin again tomorrow with a daily posting, this will be much easier than trying to catch up with those last 10 days.

Beer! It's what's for dinner!

Woodchuck Pear

Woodchuck Pear is another cider from Woodchuck Hard Cider. I first tried this cider in 2009 in Seattle.
Here is a RateBeer review.

Woodchuck 802

Woodchuck 802 Dark & Dry is also made by Woodchuck Hard Cider and I first tried this during the winter 2008-2009. I enjoy all of the ciders but I think I enjoy the dry ones possibly a bit more.
Here is a RateBeer review.

Woodchuck Granny Smith

Woodchuck Granny Smith is made from only Granny Smith apples and is also from Woodchuck Hard Cider. I first tried this in late 2008 after I moved to Seattle.
Here is a review from epinions.

Woodchuck Amber

As I mentioned yesterday, I will continue with cider postings today. Woodchuck Amber is the flagship cider for Woodchuck Hard Cider, which is made in Vermont. I first tried this in 2008 in Seattle and I have most often found the widest variety of Woodchuck products at the Big Star Beer Market. Here is a RateBeer review.

Savanna Light

As with the previous post, this is about a cider - Savanna Light also made in South Africa and I first tried this in Namibia. Here is a review from RateBeer.

Savanna Dry

I have been away for a few days so I will come back with a flurry, and in this flurry it will be a short but sweet cider week. I know they aren't beers but they are fermented and available in similar servings and most importantly I want to count them on my list and they make up only a very tiny portion of the beers I have tried.

Ok with the justification out of the way - here is Savanna Dry. This is a cider made in South Africa but I first tried this while traveling in Namibia by myself. I really enjoyed this cider even though I was also enjoying the Namibian beers while I was there.

Redhook ESB

Redhook ESB is a beer brewed by Redhook Brewing in Woodinville, WA. I am confident that the first time I had this was during 2002 in Fort Collins, Colorado - probably at Old Chicago. Here is a Beer Advocate review.

Dashen Beer

Dashen was the first beer I tried upon entering Ethiopia after having been in Sudan for two weeks in December 2006. Sudan is a "dry" country so I only drank non-alcoholic beers while there. Dashen is brewed in Gonder in northwestern Ethiopia. I have several friends who visited the brewery while we were in Ethiopia.

Game Day Ice

As with the previous post for Game Day Light, Game Day Ice is a private-label beer sold by 7-11. I tried Game Day Ice in the summer of 2010 in Seattle as I did Game Day Light.

Game Day Light

Game Day Light is a beer produced by City Brewing that is sold at 7-11 stores and is a private-label beer that they debuted earlier in 2010. I tried Game Day Light in the summer of 2010 in Seattle. Here is a Beer Advocate review and a RateBeer review.

San Lucas

San Lucas is a beer from El Salvador that I first had in the winter/spring of 2009 in Seattle. I most often see this beer at Albertson's but it must be available elsewhere too.

Pike Auld Acquaintance

For a new year post, what would be more appropriate than a beer with a reference to Auld Lang Syne? Auld Acquaintance is from Pike Brewing in Seattle. I first tried this beer in the winter of 09/10 but I also had it again this winter.

Here is a Beer Advocate review.

Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Wild

Since it is the first day of a new year and people are probably a bit more open to being 'wild' I will share about Little Sumpin' Wild Ale from Lagunitas Brewing in Petaluma, California. I really enjoy all of the beers I try from Lagunitas and this was no exception.

I had Little Sumpin' Wild Ale a few days ago as it is a limited release. I also thought it was funny that on the bottle it has a phonetic pronunciation of Lagunitas - "lah-goo.KNEE-tuss"  Here is a Virtual Taste of Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Wild Ale!
