Southern Tier Imperial Oat Oatmeal Stout

Southern Tier Imperial Oat is brewed by Southern Tier Brewing Company in Lakewood, New York.  Oat is an imperial stout brewed as part of the Southern Tier Blackwater series.  I first tried Southern Tier Oat imperial oatmeal stout in November of 2010 in West Seattle.  As it is now late October another Southern Tier brew I have previously shared on the blog is prominent and worth reminding that it is the best time of the year for Pumking.

Eurotrash Pilz is brewed by Southern Tier Brewing in New York.  I first tried Eurotrash Pilz pilsner in June of 2012 after finding it at the Beer Junction in West Seattle.

Southern Tier Pumking

Pumking is brewed by Southern Tier Brewing Company in New York.  I first tried Pumking at the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival at the Elysian Brewery in Seattle in either 2009 or 2010 when I attended but I only finally had a full serving (bottle/glass) in October of 2011 in Seattle, Washington after finding it at the PCC in West Seattle.

I most recently had Pumking earlier this month after I found an unexpected cellared bottle of Pumking that I had from last fall. I saw last week in an email from one of the great beer stores here in Seattle that Pumking was going to begin arriving again soon...pumpkin beer time is coming up fast!!!

Phin & Matt's Extraordinary Ale

Phin & Matt's Extraordinary Ale is brewed by Southern Tier Brewing in Lakewood, New York. I have become a pretty big fan of Southern Tier over the last 3 years. I first tried Phin & Matt's in Seattle early in 2010 and I found it at the Beer Authority in Lake City. Here is a Beer Advocate review and a RateBeer review.

Southern Tier Oak-aged Unearthly Imperial IPA

I was inspired for this post by the beer I had last night, not this one but another Southern Tier creation, which will wait for another day to make the blog. I had the (long name) Southern Tier Oak-aged Unearthly Imperial IPA in May, 2009. This was a special birthday present to myself as I went to the Big Star Beer Market, which was near where I used to live and picked out a couple of more lavish beers. The picture below is of the non-imperial version and the picture is linked to a nice article about some other beers of theirs. I have been a huge fan of oak-aged brews as they have grown during the last 5 years or so and this one did not disappoint. Here is the description of the beer from the Southern Tier site:

The review here at Beer Advocate echoes my sentiment that this is an excellent beer. You should look for this one and if you don't see it, ask about it and watch for it when it does come to a beer store near you. It only has limited availability.
